How it all started
PiP Public Image Promotions began its journey in 2011 with a simple yet powerful idea: to bring people together through live music events. Starting with small open mic nights, we quickly built a reputation for delivering professional live event services, growing our expertise, and expanding our sound and lighting equipment hire year after year. As demand increased, we moved beyond open mics to specialise in ticketed live music events at independent venues across Sussex and Hampshire.
During this time, Linzi discovered her passion for live event photography and videography, capturing the energy and emotion of performances. Her multi-camera video production and stunning photography helped promote local artists, while Marcus’s expertise in event management and artist bookings ensured every show was a standout experience. Together, they built a thriving community of musicians, music lovers, and venue partners.
As PiP evolved, we recognised the growing challenges faced by independent musicians and venues—balancing creativity with the demands of social media, music marketing, content creation, and promotion. To bridge this gap, we expanded our services to provide professional photography, videography, sound and lighting hire, and promotional support, helping artists, venues, and event organisers stand out in a competitive industry.
We also understand that venues need high-quality live music acts but often struggle to find the right performers, sometimes wasting money on bands that don’t quite fit their audience. To solve this, we launched the PiP Collective—a carefully curated music agency representing some of the finest solo artists, duos, and bands we’ve had the pleasure of working with. By connecting venues with professional musicians for hire, we help create incredible live music experiences that keep audiences coming back.
Today, while we remain committed to hosting open mic nights, our primary focus is on producing high-quality ticketed events, giving audiences the chance to experience exceptional live music in intimate venues. In 2024, we rebranded as Public Image Promotions, reflecting our growth as a music promotion company that supports both artists and venues with live music event management, equipment hire, and marketing services.
Beyond venue-based events, PiP has become a trusted partner in organising music festivals across Sussex and Hampshire. From festival stage management and artist booking services to event photography and videography, we work alongside local communities to deliver unforgettable live music experiences. Looking ahead, we are thrilled to be laying the groundwork for our own music festival, set to launch in 2026—a celebration of the incredible talent we represent and the vibrant live music scene we continue to champion.
